What We Do
Community Futures Okanagan-Similkameen acts as a catalyst for initiating and coordinating community economic development and facilitates entrepreneurship, training, and educational opportunities to enhance the socio-economic diversity and well-being of our communities. We do this through business training and business loans.
Working with Small Business
Building entrepreneurial capacity is one of the keys to thriving, healthy communities. Community Futures provides a wide range of business counseling and advisory services. Survival rates for Community Futures’ sponsored businesses outstrip the national average, often because of the combination of business loans, business training, and coaching.
Working with the Community
The volunteers and staff who drive the Community Futures program believe that strong, vibrant communities are built by working together. We often act as facilitators, bringing together diverse groups to develop a vision for their future and to integrate community resources into a long-term strategy. The collaboration combines economic, social, educational, cultural, and environmental goals.
